Creamy Caramelized Onion Dip
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 large uncooked onion(s), finely chopped
- 3/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1 Tbsp low-fat milk
- 1 tsp rosemary, fresh, minced (optional)
- 18 Tbsp plain low fat Greek yogurt, (1 cup plus 2 Tbsp)
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- In a large nonstick skillet, heat butter over medium-low heat. Reduce heat to low and add onion and salt; cook, stirring frequently, until extremely soft and light golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
- Stir in milk and rosemary; stir in yogurt, onion powder and Worcestershire sauce. Spoon dip into a serving bowl and chill for an hour or two for flavors to blend.
Notes
Yields about 3 tablespoons dip per serving.
Use a regular onion, not a Vidalia, unless you like your dips very sweet.
